For the last two years, the arrival of spring has coincided with the return of birthday season. PB Monster not only started a new session of swimming lessons on Saturday, but also attended his third birthday party in a month. This birthday party was unusually short (the family party was starting immediately following), but was one of the better parties, mood-wise, as a result. None of the four to six year olds had enough time to become over-tired or super-sugar-wild. This worked in my favor since I'd also arranged for Thing 1 and Thing 2 to spend the night. Thing 1, Thing 2, and PB Monster rotate playdates weekly, often involving a sleepover at my house.
For the first time, all three munchkins were sound asleep before 9:30. The last time they slept over, Thing 1 was up until 1. It was to my advantage that the kids were well rested; the power went out this morning around the time they all awoke. Not being a morning person, I wasn't feeling up to creating a breakfast without the use of a stove or microwave. I took all three boys out for breakfast, in a restaurant, without mishap. I feel like supermom.
Oh, yeah. PB Monster broke part of my sunroof off yesterday climbing out of the car via afore mentioned sunroof. I was carrying a load of groceries into the house at the time. It was a lovely day, and I put off looking at the parts. Last night, I was watching a movie (Call me Madam) while watching the boys wrestle against sleep, when a massive thunderstorm with rain rolled over us. I managed to get the sunroof most of the way closed, but in the dark and wet, didn't manage to close it all the way. This morning, I figured out how to close it, and now every door is open to dry out the inside.
Left to do this weekend; attend Manding Jata performance and rehearsal for the upcoming WSU dance performance.
